Shit Creek Survivor

Like almost everyone else, I’ve been up (and down) Shit Creek without a paddle at points in my life.

But I’ve survived it.

How?

Most likely the very same ways you have.

Sometimes, you’ve just got to thrust your hands and arms into the Shit Creek and use your own strength to move yourself forward. I’m always thankful for whatever inner strength I have had in my possession to get myself out of a defecation disaster.

Sometimes, you have to let someone on the bank of Shit Creek throw you a rope and pull you out of the fecal matter flow. There is no shame in accepting help, though many times our own pride tells us that there is. And I’m eternally grateful for those who have thrown me that rope and helped me escape the excrement.

Whether you use your own strength or that of others, we’re all Shit Creek Survivors.

Postcards From Maggie Valley – Fall Decorations

Today, at 4:44pm EDT, marked the autumnal equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere, the first day of fall and the point in which the Sun is directly above the equator and the hours of day and night are nearly equal.

Sadly, I’m not in Maggie Valley today to enjoy our little town’s annual fall decorations up and down the main road, but here’s a photo from 2010 when I was.

The 50 Greatest WWE Entrance Themes!

WWE Logo 250pxWWE just published their top 50 greatest WWE ring entrance theme songs. Of the WWE entrance music, I’m partial to “Commom Man Boogie” for the legendary Dusty Rhodes and “Also Sprach Zatathustra” for the former NWA and WWE World Champion Ric Flair.

I wish they had included “You Got Another Thing Comin’” the ring entrance music for my favorite wrestler of all time, Magnificent Mike Fury, but since he never wrestled for the WWE I can understand why his theme didn’t make the list.

Sheamus and The Chestnut

One of my co-workers found a chestnut in the parking lot the other day (much as I found Sheamus in a parking lot) and I was able to grab a quick shot of Sheamus checking out the new addition to the office.
