If you live in an area prone to tornadoes and you doubt the usefulness of a safe room, take a look at this photo one of our photographers shot a couple of days after the EF4 tornado left a trail of destruction here in Arkansas at the end of last month.
The entire home was destroyed and the only thing left standing in the midst of the total destruction of these folks’ home was their safe room. I can’t even imagine what it had to have felt like to open the door of that safe room and step out to see your home completely demolished around you, as well as those of your neighbors. But I do know that if it weren’t for that safe room, they may not have survived to see it at all. At the end of the day, things can be replaced, people can not.
