Hickory Nut Falls

I’m finally catching up on photos I took when Amber and Abby visited us in June of this year. After we finished hiking to the top of Chimney Rock and I finished climbing even higher  to Devil’s Head and Exclamation Point, we took the elevator down to the bottom of Chimney Rock and then hiked […]

Hiking up to Chimney Rock was fun and we had some great views, but there was still more to do at Chimney Rock State Park and new heights to climb that were even higher than Chimney Rock. After we came back down from Chimney Rock, Amber suddenly realized she had dropped her glasses and went […]

On Thursday morning, June 26, 2014, Cindy, Amber, Abby and I packed a picnic and ourselves into the car and drove to Chimney Rock State Park to hike to the top of Chimney Rock.

Today we took Amber and Abby over to Bryson City so we could tube down Deep Creek. After a scenic drive along the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway we arrived at the tube rental office around 11:30 and piled four inflated tubes in various sizes and colors on top of the car and tied them down. […]

Here at the hotel almost everything is packed, other than what I’ll need in the morning.  And it will be an early morning with a 3am alarm and a 6am flight which should bring me into Orlando via a 2 hour layover in Charlotte around 1pm local time. I’m looking forward to seeing my wife, […]

A couple of days ago I posted about my visit to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum here in Little Rock and I thought today I’d share some of the photos from that visit. The William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum has a lower level that houses the restaurant 42 and a coffee […]

This is my last weekend in Arkansas and today was my last day to get a chance to visit the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum in Little Rock. I’ve never visited the official library and museum of ANY American President, so it was fitting that the first one I visit belong to one […]

After spending the past 11 nights at the only hotel brand available when I arrived in Little Rock, I was able today to move to a hotel brand that I am always more comfortable staying in. We almost always stay wherever room is available when we first arrive, but as time progresses we all try […]

President Clinton in Vilonia, AR

Before the car crash last Sunday, I was doing what I do in Vilonia, AR where an EF4 tornado the previous Sunday had destroyed much of the downtown area and was responsible for the deaths of 16 people in the region. DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson, Arkansas Governor Mike Bebee, Senator Mark Pryor, Rep. Tim Griffin […]
