Saturday , 21, June 2014 Family, Photography 2 CommentsAs mentioned previously, Friday we drove over to Cherokee, NC so Amber could shop, a picnic lunch and to let Abby swim in the Oconaluftee River that runs through the center of this Native American town and reservation.
Oconaluftee Islands Park is a beautiful community park built around the river that runs through the center of Cherokee, NC.
The water in the river is cold and Abby is not quite sure yet that she is ready to get in yet. This rock made a nice place to be in the water without being IN the water.
Amber and Abby finally take the plunge…or half the plunge.
Her face says it all!
This is my favorite shot of Abby so far on this visit.
In the deeper water now, so the “water wings” are donned for safety.
Abby is learning to use her legs when swimming.
